Common Questions

Our FAQs

Here are some of the most common questions that come up during our meetings.

What services do you offer?

I provide comprehensive financial planning and investment management for individuals, families, professionals and business owners. Our work together typically includes:

  • Investment management using evidence-based portfolios
  • Retirement planning
  • Tax planning strategies
  • Insurance and risk management
  • Estate and legacy planning
  • Charitable giving strategies
  • Corporate planning for incorporated professionals and business owners
  • Ongoing advice as your life and goals change

How do you get paid?

I am compensated through a percentage of assets we manage on your behalf. Transparency is important and so you’ll always know what you are paying. Fees vary depending on the size of the portfolio. I’m happy to discuss pricing during our initial conversation.

What is included in your fees?

The fee includes ongoing portfolio management along with comprehensive financial planning. Our ongoing relationship will give you everything you need to make confident financial decisions. You can expect to meet with me 2-3 times per year, receive a monthly newsletter, and access whenever questions arise. I will coordinate with your other professionals as required to provide the best advice possible.

Is there a fee for the initial consultation?

No. Our initial conversation is complementary and comes with no obligation. We’ll start with a short introduction call and then meet to learn more about your goals and determine if we are the right fit for each other. If it makes sense to move forward, I'll explain exactly what working together looks like. If not, you'll leave with greater clarity and no pressure.

What are your qualifications?

I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) and hold the Master Financial Advisor in Philanthropy (MFA-PTM ) designation.

Why should I hire you?

My clients work with me because they want a trusted advisor who takes the time to understand their goals, simplify complex financial decisions, and provide proactive guidance over the long term. My goal is to help you make wise financial decisions, build a trusted long-term relationship, and help connect your money to your objectives. After building an initial plan, we’ll monitor and update it as life comes.

What is expected of me as a client?

The most successful client relationships are partnerships. I ask clients to be open about their goals, keep me informed when life changes, and engage in the planning and review process. I'll take care of the technical details, but your input helps ensure the advice remains relevant and meaningful. Together, we'll build a plan, review it regularly, and adjust it as your life evolves.

Who do you work with?

I currently work with people in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario and offer services in-person or virtually.
